Fashion-able: Cats on cats on cats

Maybe we’re slightly cat obsessed (see: cat-of-the-day desk calender and Instagram feeds), but we aren’t the only ones. Cat-inspired pieces have been popping up everywhere these days – even Karl Lagerfeld got a kitten named Choupette.

Here are a few items we found particularly purr-fect.

For their Spring 2012 collection, Paul & Joe Beaute released Meow!, which consists of the Collection Sparkles and Kitten Collection. They describe Meow! as “a ‘cat-astic’ collection of colours, textures, and tones influenced by the legendary, iconic ‘sex-kitten’ of French cinema and beloved, whimsical feline prints cherished by Paul & Joe creator and designer Sophie Albou.” You can find Paul & Joe Beauty at Jacob & Sebastian on Queen West and various online retailers like ASOS.

Adorbs, right?

We won’t get Target in Toronto in time for the Jason Wu for Target collection, but if you’re up for a road trip to Buffalo (see tomorrow’s post) you can snag some pieces from the collection this spring.  Despite the onslaught of recent designer collabs, we love the flirty dresses, tailored skirts and, of course, feline details. Not to mention all pieces are easy on our wallets. In stores on February 5.

Just enough cat.
Lara Vincent, the mistress of millinery, has broadened her offerings from flower wreaths to bewitching kitten ears. This patent leather and suede beauty adds an extra “meow” to the simplest of outfits. Cat ears aren’t just for Halloween anymore, ya heard? Available online, $100.

Each year, Toronto’s own Fieldguided puts out a Dreamcats calendar. Inspired by the Dreamcats Tumblr, this beautifully designed screenprint is guaranteed to bring a smile even in the depths of winter. Best news? The calendar is currently on sale in their Etsy shop – $20, marked down from $30. Get ’em while they’re hot.

Love her or hate her, you can’t deny that Lana Del Rey rocks a mean cat eye. The winged eyeliner look is a great statement look for a night out.
