Rave: Favourite spring beauty

We love natural beauty, but we do enhance ours with a little mascara, a touch of blush and some lip gloss. Time to time, we want something extra. Here are some of our newest fave beauty picks.

Nails
Crack up with OPI’s Black Shatter polish. For DIY nail art, simply begin with a base coat and any polish colour of your choice (may we suggest DS Radiance?).

Start with sleek silver…

Once dry, apply the crackle polish and watch it shatter before your eyes. Seal it with a top coat, and finally, chipped nails you can actually embrace.
 …and finish with Shatter.

Hair
Seen at Alexander Wang, Roberto Cavalli and Lacoste, braids are back in a big way.

Miu Miu does side braids right.

Start with a deep side part, and wear them long and tousled, thin and sleek or braided at your hairline and pulled into a pony. No need to let your hair down, stay casual chic tied up with plaits.

Lips
Whether you went through an awkward four year period of braces for straight teeth or are proudly sporting a cool Georgia Mae Jagger gap, we think bold lips are bad-ass.

Georgia May Jagger rocks red lips.

For a radiant smile, paint lips in bright colours. Wear Warhol-inspired matte fuchsia or pretty, tangy tangerine. Wear your loud pout, and get ready for your 15 minutes of fame.

Eyes
While we like seeing our eyes in hues of orange and purples, we sometimes like a heavy hand and black liner. Attach false lashes and apply a thick black layer to your lower lash line (think a reverse Amy Winehouse effect).

Giambattista Valli rocks the thick black liner.

Keep the rest of your makeup minimal, and let your eyes shine like a Bruno Mars song.
